Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Tasting Notes

Bright, very pale straw, near colourless. This has a very fresh, exuberant bouquet of pungent passionfruit and gooseberry aromas
along with grassy, herb notes, quite penetrating and intense, with some esters lift.

Dry to taste, upfront passionfruit and gooseberry flavours make a strong impact and are enlivened by crisp, racy acidity. This has depth and energetic drive, the palate showing some fine textural grip along the line carrying through to the finish. Gooseberry and capsicum flavours linger.
This is an up‐front and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with a fine textured line.

Vineyard
Sourced from selected vineyard, the fruit was trucked early in the day to retain freshness. After de‐stemming and crushing, the grapes were lightly pressed to cold tanks for settling. A careful racking allowed clear juice to ferment using an aromatic yeast strain. Careful attention was given to promote and enhance herbaceous aromatic characters. A stop ferment process was performed to catch natural residual sweetness and balance in the wine.
Racked of gross lees, all tanks were blended to develop style and add complexity to the wine. The wine was then naturally stabilised, prior to cross‐flow filtering.

No fining agents were used.

Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris 2012

Tasting Notes
Bright, very pale straw colour with some lemon‐green hues. This gentle and harmonious Pinot Gris has a subtle richness.

Fresh aromas of mineral‐infused pears and stonefruits are evenly expressed with liveliness and some depth. Off‐dry to taste, light
flavours of pears and white stonefruits are supported by good underlying acidity.

Vineyard
A blend of grapes from two vineyards were chosen for their different characters. The Flett Road Pinot Gris is grown on Moutere clay, while the Bridge Block Pinot Gris comes from sandy riverbed soils at the
mouth of the Motueka River. Both vineyards have 2 cane VSP format, shortened for crop management.

  • Technical Details
  • Alcohol 12.5%
  • Residual Sugar 11.4 g/L
  • pH 3.35
  • Total Acidity 6.9 g/L
